Since its foundation in 1922, the Animal Health Production College has stood at the forefront of veterinary and animal‐production training in Ghana. Located in Pong-Tamale, Northern Region, the College was initially established during the colonial period to strengthen livestock health across the Gold Coast.

Over the decades, AHPC has grown into a nationally recognised institution dedicated to producing skilled animal-health technicians, laboratory specialists, and livestock production professionals. Our purpose is simple yet profound: to equip our students with both technical competence and ethical values to serve Ghana’s agricultural and veterinary sectors.
Our Approach
At AHPC, practical learning comes first. Students engage in real-world environments—from working with local farms and veterinary labs to undertaking community outreach. This hands-on exposure ensures graduates are ready to meet the demands of Ghana’s animal-health industry and contribute meaningfully to national food security and livestock development.
Our Vision for the Future
As the agricultural landscape evolves, AHPC remains committed to innovation, excellence and impact. We are poised to expand our facilities, deepen our industry partnerships and explore advanced training pathways. Our mission is to produce graduates who not only fill jobs, but create opportunities—transforming lives, communities and the future of animal health in Ghana.
